Bar Stools come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and styles. When choosing the right stool for you think about style, comfort, and functionality and also the right colour to suit your kitchen, bar or cafe. Here are some tips on choosing the right size, style and functionality for your bar stool.
By far the most popular type of stool is the wooden bar stool. Wood is undeniably attractive, and it has a natural look. There are all kinds of different styles of wooden stools. Some are simply just 4 legs and a round seat. Others look just like a normal chair with longer legs. One of the best things about a wooden bar stool is that they can be stained or painted any color you want.
If your kitchen is modeled after a café or bistro, you will find many chairs you can use to enhance the look. Plain cherry wood chairs like those you would see in the upscale coffee shops always look nice and you can also get metal chairs with a stylish new-age design that compliments this look very well.
And the most important details when choosing a bar stool are the shapes and the colour. These days designers create almost all kind of shaped stools, from classic to modern or even excentric ones in order to satisfy everybody`s desire. If you have a home full of classic furniture you can go for a classy leather bar stool, that will bring elegance and high class note to your room. Even ladies can make themsleves a special place at the bar on one of these! You may want to look at more natural colours, including creams and browns, nude colors and delicate materials adding a special glamour to the bar. These days, stools come in many forms and colours so not even the very modern designers can`t say they couldn`t find a suitable style to go with the minimalistic or futuristic furniture. In specialised stores you can find all kinds of stool models, for all ages and tastes, that will defintely impress your guests and make your bar a place of art and imagination.
Restaurant furniture can be a large investment, taking proper care of wood stools can significantly expand their life, be sure to read the manufacturer`s care instructions. Clean spills immediately, this can be difficult in a busy bar environment but an upholstered bar stool can quickly become ruined if liquor or other items stain the seat area. The faster the spill is cleaned up, the less time the spill has to soak into the fabric. Try and avoid positioning bar stools too close to walls as they will rub on the wall and damage both the wall and the stool. Try and encourage customers to not lean back on two legs, not only can this lead to an injury claim if the customer falls, it also puts a large strain on the back legs and the back of the seat which can cause either area to fracture under the tension.
The size of bar sloots is usually measured by comparing with the height of the bar, being measured from the floor to the top of the seat. Kitchen tables usually falls between 70 cm and 76 cm in height. A bar stool with a height of 43-46 cm fits best with this type of table. Bar tables are usually between 102-107 cm in height. A bar stool with a height of 70-76 cm would be necessary for this type of application. A bar counter falls between 90 and 92 cm in height, and bar stools with a height between 61-66 cm usually work best with the size of this kind of bar counter. It doesn`t matter what size you choose for your seats, always remember that what is important is that they are not too high or too low when you sit on them and they must be in harmony with the size of your bar and your room.
Many wooden stools come cushioned as well, adding a bit of color and brightness to the beautiful finished wood. These cushioned stools look great in the family or game room or even in a dining room sitting. The materials used in cushioned stools can be anything from cheap plastic covering to real and faux leather, to cloth and even in some cases velvet. Of course the higher quality the cushion the higher the cost of the bar stool.
Home bar stools come in different styles. Retro chrome and vinyl padded stools are becoming popular these days. But if you want to give your bar a more different or exotic look, then you can opt for bar stools made of bamboo or rattan.
